The Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency plans for all hazards that may occur in Madison County. The agency responds to community emergencies by following the plans that they have in place which address the identified hazards that our community could face. Additionally, the staff is trained and experienced in disaster management and participates in a state-wide mutual aid response system. The goal of the agency is to minimize the effects of disasters on the lives and property of the citizens of Madison County through leadership, coordination, and support in the four phases of emergency management: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. The Emergency Management Agency Director also acts as a point of contact and administrator for homeland security programs and funding for Madison County.
