The Madison County Purchasing Department procures equipment, materials, supplies and services for Madison County offices. Laws’ regulating county government requires Invitation for Bids to be mailed to interested vendors. Vendors return bids to the Purchasing Department prior to 10:00 a.m. on the opening date. Bids are opened in the Madison County Commission board room. In cases where purchases will not exceed $15,000.00, a high level of competition is also maintained through our quotation process, which is more flexible and may be opened in the Purchasing Department. Minor purchases under $1,000.00 may be purchased by county departments upon approval from the Purchasing Department.

Madison County Commission welcomes the opportunity of adding businesses to our vendor’s list. The following three basic steps are our requirements for adding your company’s name:
- Mail your letter of request stating the equipment, materials, supplies, and services your company provides.
- Fax your letter of request to (256) 532-3677.
- E-mail your letter of request. Submit your email request to this address only: purchdpt@co.madison.al.us
Once we receive your letter we will place your company’s name on our vendor’s list. Adding a company’s name to our vendor’s list does not limit that company to only doing business with Madison County through our bidding process. We also welcome your business on our day to day purchasing needs. Our goal is to establish a relationship with small and minority owned businesses and expand our vendor base.
