Martha and Mo met at Duke
University. Martha transferred
to the University of Alabama after her marriage to Mo, graduated with a degree
in accounting "beta gamma sigma" (the accounting department's phi
beta kappa equivalent). Martha later retired from certified public accounting to become a full-time mother to
four children. Martha earned a second degree in 2005 in math from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and is presently a middle school math teacher.
